For the Roads You Want to Ride
Flarent's motorcycle fleet is three Hondas: the NX500 (471cc, A2-friendly, €120/day, €600 deposit), the XL 750 Transalp (755cc adventure tourer, €145/day, €800 deposit), and the X-ADV 750 (745cc adventure-scooter crossover with DCT automatic, €180/day, €800 deposit). All machines are owned in-house, serviced between rentals, and fitted with hard panniers or a top-box on request.
The Honda NX500 is available to rent on an A2 license (the only bike in the fleet that A2 holders can ride). The Honda XL 750 Transalp and Honda X-ADV 750 both require a full Category A motorcycle license (or your home country's equivalent unrestricted motorcycle entitlement) held for at least two years.

€600 card hold on the Honda NX500. €800 on the Honda XL 750 Transalp and Honda X-ADV 750. Holds are released within 24 hours of the return, with a clear walk-around and photographs documenting the bike's condition. No cash deposit is ever taken.
Yes, for any rider with a full Category A license who is comfortable with mountain riding. The road is 24 km of tight switchbacks, gaining 1 km of elevation from Makarska to the Biokovo summit. The asphalt is well-maintained, traffic is light, and gravel on the bends is the only practical hazard. The XL 750 Transalp is the bike for this road. Avoid in the rain as the surface gets slick.
Your own jacket, gloves, boots, and trousers. Flarent does not provide a riding kit. Most touring riders fly with their own gear.
Yes, the minimum hire is one day per bike in the fleet. The single-day all-in rate is the same as the daily rate on a multi-day hire. There is no minimum-period uplift. Day-trip suggestions: the Biokovo Skywalk loop (220 km, all three bikes), the Imotski Blue Lake and Cetina valley (130 km, perfect on the NX500), or the inland Vrlika–Sinj round.
The Dalmatian coast is perfect for motorcycle tours. The D8 road from Split to Dubrovnik is among the favorites in European riding magazines every summer. The Biokovo Skywalk loop offers one of the best mountain climbs in the southern Balkans, and the Imotski Blue Lake route is a day trip your friends will envy.

This is the smallest bike in the fleet, but for many riders, it is also the most versatile. It has a 471 cc parallel-twin engine producing 35kW (47 km) at 8,500 rpm, weighs 196 kg wet, has a low 830 mm seat height, ABS, traction control, a 17.5-liter tank for up to 350 km between stops, and a comfortable upright riding position. It handles the coastal D8, the Biokovo switchbacks, and the fast inland roads to Imotski with ease. This bike is ideal for solo riders or those with a light passenger, who have a year or two of road experience and want to cover 200–300 km a day comfortably.

A true adventure-tourer. This one features a 755 cc parallel-twin engine producing 67 kW, weighs 208 kg wet, has an 850 mm seat height, a six-axis IMU, four ride modes, traction control, cornering ABS, and long-travel suspension. It easily carries a passenger and luggage up the Biokovo switchbacks, along inland Croatian back-roads, and across the Bosnian border. This is Honda's benchmark for go-anywhere riding.

This bike is a true category-bender, blending the features of a maxi-scooter and an adventure bike. It has a twist-and-go DCT automatic transmission, a 745 cc parallel-twin engine producing 43 kW, long-travel adventure-style suspension, generous under-seat storage, and a riding position that lets you comfortably cover 500 km in a day. The X-ADV is perfect for riders who know the roads, have the right license, and want an automatic. It has the highest day rate in the fleet because it is the most in-demand.
Perfect one-day ride, around 220 km.
Go south-east out of Split on the D8 coastal road, hugging the sea through Omiš and Brela for 50 km, then inland from Makarska up the Biokovo mountain road. The Biokovo Skywalk is a glass-floor viewing platform 1,228 m above the Adriatic. It was opened in 2020 and is now one of the most photographed structures in Croatia, with amazing panoramic views. The road up is 24 km of tight switchbacks, gaining 1 km of elevation. While it might be challenging for the inexperienced, it will be glorious for everyone else. Best on the Transalp or the X-ADV; doable on the NX500 if you take the climb in your own time. Return runs the same D8 coastal road in the opposite light.
Ideal half-day excursion, 130 km, mostly twisty inland.
Head out north-east out of Split on the A1 motorway to the Vrgorac exit, then onto the regional roads up to Imotski. The Blue Lake at Imotski is a 220 m-deep karst sinkhole that fills with water in winter and drains into a basin in summer. The views from the rim road are spectacular, and the riding into the town is on the kind of empty inland twisty road that the Transalp was built for. Return via the Cetina valley road through Vrlika and Sinj, and you are back in Split for an afternoon swim at Bačvice. The NX500 is the perfect motorcycle for this loop - light and flickable through the switchbacks.
Every motorcycle rental with Flarent includes the bike itself with road tax, registration, eco fee, and Croatian third-party insurance. You'll also get a full tank of petrol and a helmet in your size. We hold helmets in sizes S–XXL. You'll also get a printed route map with the recommended fuel stops and the must-stop viewpoints marked.
We do not lend riding kit - jackets, boots, gloves, trousers. Most touring riders fly with their own kit, and we recommend you do the same.
The insurance package is third-party liability and CDW with an excess of €600 on the NX500 and €800 on the XL 750 Transalp and X-ADV 750.
Croatia recognizes every EU, UK, EEA, Swiss, US, Canadian, Australian, and New Zealand motorcycle license in full. A restricted, learner, or provisional license is not sufficient for the XL 750 or X-ADV.
